Spectrum "Sting" Invitational Wrestling Tournament
Two of the Metro Sports Commission teams were in action last Friday evening as they traveled to the Elk River area to compete in the Spectrum "Sting" invitational. The Sabres of Sartell had a great tourney with 209.5 points to win the championship. They had eleven wrestlers in the top five including four championships by Drew Bienusa, Zach Motschke, Garrett Counter and Brady Goebel. Jake Fernholz, Jon Pelach and Danny Nyguen all earned third place. Nathan Frank, Nick Jensen, Abe Anderson and Sam Krauel all took fourth place.
The Storm of Sauk Rapids turned in a great performance with 180.5 points to earn second place at the Spectrum "Sing" Invitational. They had ten place winners including Kory Keske, Austin Walz, Chris Keske, Dylan Vait and Trent Klejeski all won championships. Matthew Kruger earned second place, Tony Bemboom and Charley Rudy both earned third place. Adam Gessell earned fourth place and Tristan Emery took fifth place.
